Alan H. Channing, MS, FACHE, retired as president and CEO of Sinai Health System after ten years in 2014.  Under his guidance, Sinai increased in size, experienced some of its most stable years, and became recognized as one of the nation’s most creative community oriented hospitals receiving the American Hospital Association’s NOVA award as well as several awards for clinical quality.

Channing served as CEO of Bellevue Medical Center and Elmhurst Hospital Center, New York in addition to several other hospitals.  He holds a BS in Industrial Management from the University of Cincinnati and an MS in healthcare management from The Ohio State University where he holds an assistant professorship.  He co-authored two texts on healthcare management along with numerous articles and blogs.  Mr. Channing is past chairman of the Illinois Hospital Association.  Mr. Channing was repeatedly named by Becker’s Hospital Review as a “Hospital and Health System Leader to Know”.  And, was the inaugural recipient of “Becker’s Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award”.  Currently, Channing serves as a faculty member and advisor to the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s School of Public Health, and as founder and Principal of Channing Consulting Group, LLC.
