Dr. Jenene R. Washington is a board-certified, practicing pediatrician and physician executive who has over twenty years of healthcare experience and over fifteen years of success in practice management, practice transformation and operational excellence of healthcare organizations.

Dr. Washington has a passion for serving underserved communities and has worked as a clinical leader in Federally Qualified Health Centers, most recently as the Chief Medical Officer of the largest FQHC in Maryland.  She has developed successful, comprehensive quality programs using population health strategies and performance improvement teams, which contributed to Dr. Washington’s appointment to the CMS National Expert Panel on Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative in 2016.  She has achieved PCMH recognition and accreditation with the National Committee of Quality Assurance and Joint Commission respectively.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Spelman College; Dr. Washington received her Medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine; and her Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

An experienced consultant and frequent national speaker on quality improvement; team-based care; practice transformation; healthcare diversity and social determinants of health; sexual health; clinical leadership; and healthcare access, Dr. Washington is a member of the Maryland Medical Group Management Association (MGMA); the Amerigroup Medical Advisory Board; United Health Care Community Plan’s Provider Advisory Committee; and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
